WOMEN’S FURNITURE




Women in the world of interior design have always played a fundamental role, bringing with them creativity, sensitivity and unique visions that have shaped the space in which we live.


During the twentieth century and up to the present day, many women designers have left an indelible mark, inspiring generations and creating a legacy of innovation and timeless style.


One of the most iconic figures of 20th century interior design was Ray Eames, known for his pioneering work in the field of modern furniture. Together with her husband Charles, she helped define the style and philosophy of modern design, creating iconic pieces that continue to influence the world of design even today.


As Ray Eames once said:


"What we want is to give people the opportunity to make their home, their environment, not a house designed by someone else".

Another prominent figure in the interior design scene of the twentieth century was Charlotte Perriand, also a pioneer of modern design and collaborator of Le Corbusier. His revolutionary vision and functional approach helped redefine the living space and make design accessible to a wider audience.


As Charlotte Perriand once said:


"Design is not just what it looks like and what it feels like. Design is how it works".

Today, in the panorama of contemporary interior design, women continue to leave their mark with innovative ideas and bold visions. Designers like Patricia Urquiola and Kelly Wearstler embody women’s creativity and determination. Through their works, they transform spaces and create unique experiences that reflect the complexity and diversity of the modern world.

While Kelly Wearstler said:


"Design is the answer to how we want to live".

These words reflect the importance of interior design in shaping our experiences and reflecting our deepest aspirations and values.


The contribution of women to the world of interior design has been and continues to be fundamental. Through their creativity, determination and unique vision, they have transformed and enriched our way of life, inspiring and leaving an indelible mark on the world.





...and in Italy?


Gae Aulenti was one of the most iconic figures in the world of Italian architecture and design, she was a pioneer in the field of interior design and architecture. Famous for its distinctive style and its ability to combine functionality and aesthetics, it has left an indelible mark with iconic works such as the Musée d'Orsay in Paris and the transformation of the Gare d'Orsay into a prestigious exhibition space.


His eclectic vision and artistic sensibility have inspired designers around the world, and his legacy continues to influence generations of architects and designers.

Cristina Celestino is a talented and internationally recognized Italian contemporary designer. Based in Milan, he founded his own studio in 2009 and since then has won the attention of the design world with his unique and innovative creations.


Known for its eclectic approach to interior design, it combines tradition and modernity in a surprising way. His works range from interior design to the design of objects, lighting and accessories.

Thanks to her aesthetic sensitivity and her ability to reinterpret the Italian style in a contemporary way, she has become one of the most interesting figures on the international design scene. His creations, characterized by timeless elegance and an incessant search for harmony and beauty, have won the hearts of design enthusiasts around the world.
